Meet Miss College Park 2024!

Hello everyone!  A warm College Park welcome!

I am Elena Rose Argueta, your Miss College Park 2024!

As a previous College Park Princess, it has been a lifetime dream of mine to compete for this prestigious title. I am so happy to have been crowned the 31st winner on September 24th, 2023.  For winning the title, I received a $2000 cash scholarship, a beautiful pair of custom-designed earrings from Arabesques Jewelry, and a fun photoshoot.

I am the first Miss College Park to be raised entirely in the City of College Park. Being a lifetime resident helps me know the various neighborhoods and all of the special annual events held by the city by heart, and  I am always thinking of ways to give back and contribute to this local community. Some of my previous appearances since being crowned include;

  • College Park Day- October 7th, 2023

  • Knights of Columbus Car Show- October 14th, 2023

  • Good Neighbor Day- October 21st, 2023

  • American Legion Halloween Party- October 29th, 2023

      30th anniversary of the Veteran’s Memorial located at the       intersection of Baltimore Avenue and Greenbelt Road-           On Veteran’s Day - November 11th, 2023

  • Christmas Wonderland, Tree Lighting at City Hall- December 2nd, 2023

Making Appearances for the City has been so much fun! I love seeing our leaders on a regular basis. I cannot wait to do more in the year 2024.

Some of my extracurricular activities involve competitive swimming, being a clinical support staff, and baking! I started my swimming journey in 2013 at the Knights of Columbus 2809 on Cherry Hill Road. Since then, I have been consistently swimming; in 2018, I joined Machine Aquatics. This excellent club team motivated me to become a certified lifeguard, offer swim lessons, and eventually get certified as a USA Swimming coach.

Outside of swimming, I am a clinical support staff at College Park Homebirth, where I manage administrative and clerical duties. After attending a handful of homebirths, the celebration of life is truly an event that one should be a part of in their lifetime. I am very thankful to have witnessed a live birth that shows the beauty of natural homebirth and delivery. My mother, Jennifer Argueta, is a midwife whom I aspire to work under someday.

As for baking, pineapple-upside cake and cookies are my favorite thing to bake!

Not only is 2024 the year I am serving as crowned Miss College Park, but it is also the year I will graduate from high school! As a homeschool student in Classical Conversations, presently, I am also enrolled at Prince George’s Community College (PGCC). After I graduate, I plan to use the scholarship to help obtain an Associate degree in nursing at PGCC. I would like to give my thanks to the City of College Park, the American Legion Post 217and the Downtown College Park Merchants Authority for sponsoring the 31st Miss College Park Competition.
